Aica + Nick | Summer Garden Wedding on Film

Aica and Nick hosted their summer garden inspired wedding at Oxmoor Farm in Louisville, Kentucky. We shot the majority of the day on analog film formats, between 35mm film and Super 8 film with a focus on documentary photography. Although, with a couple this hot and a vintage car—how could we not squeeze in some editorial portraits, as well?

They started their day getting ready in separate suites at The Bellwether Hotel, the best kitschy, colorful backdrop for a relaxed morning (Aica in her hair rollers really took the cake). Aica’s mother and brother helped her get dressed, before she walked downstairs for the sweetest reveal with her gals. I was absolutely tearing up through smiles behind the camera. They had a traditional Catholic Mass for their ceremony, before hopping in a vintage car from Royal Transportation of Louisville to head for Oxmoor Farm for their reception. Their garden inspired tablescapes, beneath the sweetest tent, were adorned by Blooms Boutique with a mixture of simplicity and pops of bold color and fruits. After dinner, Aica did a quick reception outfit change and Nick showed off his new tattoo dedicated to his love for Aica (and hands down my favorite image from the entire day—and quite possibly of every photo I’ve ever taken). When we returned to the reception, the dance floor was in full swing as the live band, Best Kept Secret, was absolutely bringing the house (or rather, tent) down.

It may have been the hottest recorded day of the summer, but that didn’t stop a single person from soaking up every ounce of love throughout the day or from being on the dance floor until the very last minute. This is a wedding that I will forever recall fondly, that holds a permanent grip on my heart, and my business.
